Pavilions Rules

* Free $$ Giveaway Down Below 🙂 If you can get through my ramblings…

There was a passionate argument going around the preschool room at our Halloween party about which store we shopped in.  All the kids had their own opinion about their favorite store. The parents were chiming in too. There are some weeks where we are at the store almost every day.  I’m so glad I love that place! When other people talk about their stores I just cringe.  I go to other stores and it’s just not the same.  Nothing is where I expect it to be. I spend several extra trips down aisles I’ve already been down before. And lets not talk about the lines to check out. They are ALWAYS longer. Always.

I think we love the people the most. I’m on a first name basis with at least seven different employees at our local Pavilions.  We heart Debbie the most, and stand in her line even if the line is longer than everyone else’s. It usually is. Debbie is popular.  Her name is one of the first words from both Sam AND Griffin, screamed from the vegetable section when they spot her blonde hair at her usual station.

It’s not all about the great service that we get from the employees, the value for our money is a winner in this economy! When I am forced to go to another store for any emergency items, I always notice that my Pavilions is cheapest! Their coupons that they give you when you are signed up on their Club card are awesome.  You can add all sorts of different coupons to your card online.  I love their different promos they run throughout the year if you are a Club Card member. We have received free money, gas, and even popcorn! It’s pretty cool!

Sam and I have our favorite sections of the store. The deli girls are always offering some yummy goodies to the kids (Sam goes for the cheese samples!).  Our meat man is always there to season our meat and help me figure out how long to cook the stuff too.  They are super smart. 🙂 And always ready to wrap something up for me or find it in the back. Their sushi section is wonderful there, the lady who makes them is so sweet and knows me by sight. I think she is starting to keep a package of rainbow rolls just for me on Monday’s when I come in!

One thing that I like to do at home is surf through the Safeway/Pavilions website for budget friendly recipes. I’m always looking for something easy to try! Something new this season is their exclusive 2-hour Turkey Recipe! Since we are going to Big Bear for the holiday, I’m printing it out and taking it with us. Luckily, my Mother in Law is in charge of the turkey so I’m hoping to get some pointers. I’ve always been completely obvious to cooking turkey but at some point I assume I’m going to have to do it. Luckily, there are these wonderful recipes to help me, right!?

A few more quick links are to the free turkey with minimum purchase, home grocery delivery, and their special Leftover Lounge (I bet you can guess what is in here!). Turkey Mashed Potato and Jack Cheese Casserole, anyone??

The super cool thing is that Safeway has given me a $25.00 gift card to giveaway to one of my readers!! You can use it at any Safeway store or chain, including Vons or Pavilions which are in the Southern California area near me.  I know they have other stores with the Safeway brand across the United States.

To win the $25.00 Safeway gift card, please visit their website and recipe section and leave a comment below and tell me what your favorite recipe is.  Be sure to check out their special holiday recipes too.  The winner will be chosen randomly and must reside in the United States. 🙂  Have fun!

Contest ends Monday night!

Hi,
Great timing as I was trying to look for a chicken soup recipe. I left over chicken. I liked their quick chicken soup recipe:

http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Recipe-Search#iframetop

I added garlic and a few other veggies and spices and it came out great. Much better than a can. Who knew making homemade soup could be so easy..especially if you already have cooked chicken.

Yay! I’m so happy I read your post. I normally don’t care for cranberry sauce or relish, but one year I tasted some from a Pavillions that I loved. Never have been able to find it again, for at least 7-8 years. Then your website, found Cranberry-Raisin Chutney recipe, now happiness after Thanksgiving:) This will be great for my Black Friday Shopping Turkey Sandwich. Thanks Kristi, once again I’ve found your blog to be entertaining & useful. Happy Thanksgiving!
