PROMPTuesday #39 – Interview with an Oreo Shake

by Kristi on January 19, 2009 · 3 comments

I ran into San Diego Momma on the interwebz last week and was laughing and identifying with so many of her posts.  I immediately added her to my Google Reader.  She’s pretty darn funny, go over and visit.

She has a fun little exercise called PROMPTuesday where she has a question of some kind and you just write for 10 minutes and either post it in her comments or put it on your own blog.  I decided to just DO IT.  I need to work on my writing, I need more creativity in my life, and darn it, here I go.  This week is PROMPTuesday #39, The Interview and well… I had a nice little chat with Ruby’s Oreo Shake.

KB: Hi Ruby’s Oreo Shake, nice to finally meet you. How are you?

ROS: Well, I’m a little chilly. The freezer has been cold.

KB: I’m terribly sorry about that. I’ve been thinking about you for the past few days, wondering how you were faring in that sub-zero freezer of ours. I’ve decided that it’s time for a little chat though.

ROS: Of course. I’ve been enjoying my stay with the garlic cheese bread, home-style pancakes, and maple sausage. Quite an eclectic group you have living there.

KB: My main question is that I’d really like to know why you feel I should be eating you at all? You do realize that I’ve been being a good girl and hauling my butt to the gym at least three times a week and finding you in my fridge is not very healthy for me.

ROS: I realize that while I might not be the healthiest desert, I am one of the tastiest out there. My ice cream is made with the most exquisite vanilla bean out there, creamy full fat milk, and exactly 8 1/2 Oreo cookies with big chunks to savor your taste buds with. If you are not ready for me, I would be perfectly happy to go back and enjoy the festivities in the freezer. Or possibly wait for your husband to pick me up one day.

KB: Well, you make an excellent point. I’m really not sure how you ended up in my freezer though.

ROS: I think you know how that happened.

KB: I know that I ordered ONE shake for the husband, yet somehow two shakes came home with me in the takeout bag.

ROS: Are you sure you ordered one?

KB: Uh, well. I thought I was asking the questions here?

ROS: Of course. Please continue. Actually, what happened to my partner?

KB: Err, sorry about that. I’m told the husband enjoyed him immensely. So, how many calories are you exactly?

ROS: How many calories for me entirely? Or how many calories for what you have already eaten while we’ve been chatting?

KB: I think this interview is over.

That is one informative Oreo shake. I think he was a little sassy though. You better eat him and teach him a lesson.
