Weird…

by Kristi on March 1, 2008

It’s been 40 minutes since J left the room. She cried/whined for 4 minutes tops. I was ready to go up there in two to make sure she wasn’t scared but she just stopped after four…. We have the monitor on SUPER loud to hear her moving around (makes you wish for those video ones, hehe) and she tossed and turned for a bit but that’s all. It will be interesting to go in there to check on her in a bit to see where she ended up on the bed. 🙂 She is still moving around a bit but I think she is asleep.

I think it was just a little weird at first though. Usually J stands up and sings/walks around with her for a few minutes while she is draped over his shoulder (I do the same thing at naps but while sitting in the rocker) and since he was already laying down in the bed with her, he said it was weird.

I think it’s absolutely crazy that she just went down like that. I’m totally knocking on wood though.

The other thing with the sleeping issue is that since we have changed around her eating schedule (cutting out snacks) we had THIRTEEN awesome nights of perfectly sleepfulness (is that a word?). Sadly, last night it was RUINED by her screaming from 2 to 230 before we both decided that she should be checked on in case she was stuck in her crib. And just like usual, she was still laying down with all the blankets over her (meaning she didn’t get up or anything) just screaming… Told J she wanted food, he said no. Then she wanted to be read Elmo, he said no. He told her he could sing to her, and she agreed with that. LOL – He sang and rocked her for 10 or 20 and laid her back down and she was out until 720am.

Why last night was different, I do not know. 🙁 She spent the afternoon with Grandma Jerra and (I think) ate a good lunch. She did have some fruit in the car on the way home around 5pm but I took it away from her so she could eat pizza around 6pm. Which she did. Not a LOT but she ate enough. Then, she had Grandma Sharon over from 630 to 730 and she ate almost her whole peanut butter & jelly muffin that we always give her at 7pm, plus she drank a TON of milk. The week before she also saw both Grandma’s on Thursday and she slept through the night so I still don’t know what went wrong.

The other thing is that while the past 13 night have been great there were still two instances of where she woke up and cried but for 5 min or less. And oddly enough, it was about every 6 days. LOL – It’s like every week she has to wake up once, it’s so odd.

28th – 2-230 cry, Justin rocked/sang to sleep
27th – Good, few short cries throughout the night & morning
26th – Good
25th – Good
24th – Good
23th – Good
22nd – Good
21st – Good, 515, cry 5min, 530, cry 5min
20th – Good
19th – Good
18th – Good
17th – Good
16th – Good
15th – Good

We shall see what tonight brings. We will be opening up her door a crack and ours (with the stair gate in place, of course – and the bathroom door closed…) Gawd, childproofing is scary. Luckily, J is the lightest sleeper ever. 🙂

I’m also more worried about naps in the afternoon since she won’t be ‘caged in’. She isn’t to bad at naps though and is ‘generally’ happy enough to lie down for a bit.

She’s totally sleeping now, her breathing is very deep and heavy. 🙂 I can’t believe it was that easy for her to go down to bed! Obviously, I’m only saying that about the GOING to bed part. Notice I didn’t say it was easy in GENERAL, I fully expect some craziness in the middle of the night. Oh, and I can’t wait to see what she does in the morning! LOL
