It’s 2008!

It’s 2008! Yes, I’m a few days late but wanted to post something for New Year’s. 🙂 So many people have done some great New Year’s posts too! 2008 is shaping up to be a great year! So far the only big thing we have planned is Griffin. LOL – But hopefully that will be quite enough excitement.

I usually don’t make resolutions but I made a few this year.

1) To cook 2 or 3 times a week. 🙂 I said three at first but didn’t want to push my luck! On Wed I made crockpot chicken and stuffing and it was soooo yummy. We eat out so much and really need to start cooking more! I plan on making another meal on Sunday but Saturday we are also going out with friends (late Christmas gathering) and that will be home cooked, I am even making green bean casserole so hopefully that will count too. LOL

2) I need to clean a bit more! We have cleaners that come but I want to get new ones (they do things so half-assed) and only have them come once in awhile. We started having them come a lot more after Sam got here two years ago because the dog and cat hair gets CRAZY after just a few days. Well, sheesh, I need to get a swiffer and a new vacuum and that will help tons. Our vacuum has, sadly, been on it’s last legs for a few years and it started smoking when we were vacuuming the garage (the carpeted part for the poker room) a few weeks ago. I browsed through vacuums at Bed Bath & Beyond and holy cow, they are expensive! But, obviously, if the cleaners don’t come here as often you make back the price quickly. 🙂 I was thinking about those Dyson commercials for awhile until I figured out they were $400, sheesh. There was a nice Dirt Devil one for $150 though so I think I will get that one next week. I asked Justin about it and he said we don’t need a new one, we can just use the hand held one. I just looked at him. There is no way I am vacuuming on my KNEES with a hand held tiny thing! LOL

That’s about it. Over the past few days though my third one is to throw away Sam’s bottles. That’s not so much a resolution but it will be difficult when we do it. I just can’t stand these mid-night wakings any longer for a “baa-baaaa”. I think I have finally reached my limit.

In closing, I wanted to go over the past year and pick out some posts I wanted to look back on! As I was looking back over 2007 and 2006, I knew I wanted to have something I could browse over at the end of 2008… so if you feel like going through some of these, have fun. 🙂

JAN
Did I keep my 2007 resolutions? Well, I gained more weight (not a ton) but gained back what I had lost from nursing and now am quite heavy at the end of 2007 since I’m preggo. LOL – So I will skip that one. Since I didn’t really make any other resolutions besides the ‘normal’ ones I won’t comment. hehe

On Jan 16th, Sam started really walking. We have a toddler in the house!

FEB

Sleep begets sleep – ugh, still sleeping issues in Feb

MARCH

Sam turned 15 months in March! I had a nice writeup on her stats.

We all got sick in March and I stopped nursing which was very sad but worked out well.

I was creative and made an Easter basket as well as getting family photos with DrewB!

APRIL

April brought us a sneek peak of photos by DrewB! They were awesome!

I turned 27 this month and we had an eventful month with going to Oregon to visit my Dad, my birthday stay at the Ritz Carlton with my hubby, and tons of other fun stuff.

I talked about my wonderful stay at the Ritz for my pampered life.

MAY

We got the exciting news that Krysta was having TWINS! We found out she was preggo in April but a second twin popped up. Now, was that Raechelle or Charlotte now? hehe – I’m pretty sure it was Raechelle hiding in there.

I was way to tuned into TV this year and did a writeup of my favorite shows. Plus, I had to talk a little about John’s fabulous 60th birthday party! It was awesome!

JUNE

Sam turned 18 months and I talked about how far she has come since she was born! Wow!

We had a great Father’s Day at Disneyland. What fun!

JULY

We had a nice weekend in Newport! Plus I talked about the new Cloverfield movie that was debuted at the Transformers movie. It comes out in two weeks in 2008! Is anyone excited for that? LOL – I hope it lives up to it’s promises!

Harry Potter, Book 7 came out. You know I had to mention this. 🙂 I love those books.

Oreo Cookie, or Griffin Scott, made his presence known with a positive Pregnancy test! Woohoo!

AUGUST

Oreo Cookie update, everything is going well.

Sam got her first hair cut!! Awww… Isn’t she cute!

SEPTEMBER

Earthquakes, beach visit, and yet more sleeping problems for Sam. Funny how the same stuff just repeats over and over again…

And more sickness for us all. Reading over these past posts makes me realize that we’ve been sick quite a few times this year! Usually I just get it once a year but we’ve been sick 4 or 5 times, sheesh. And more bottle woes for us. One of my goals is throwing away those bottles in 2008.

BIG weekend again! Nicole’s wedding shower, Aiden’s birthday, and pictures of Sam making eggs. What a little cook she may be! Obviously not after her mother.

OCTOBER

Justin’s birthday! Picking out pumpkins, belly shot, and trying on Sam’s bridesmaid dress. Aww…

NOVEMBER

Nicole got married! Yea! What a wonderful day!

We welcomed the Marvin Twins, Charlotte & Raechelle! Wow, we have been waiting for those beautiful girls for a long time! So exciting!

The year went flying by and I started working on Sam’s new room as we make room for Griffin to come home!

DECEMBER

It’s my baby’s birthday! I can’t believe she is two. So amazing how time flys!

It’s a boy! Griffin Scott!

Santa arrived for a wonderful 2007 Christmas.

Love ya!
