Welcome to the Marvin Twins!!!!

What an evening! Read below for some of the updates that went on. 🙂

I got a late start getting down to the hospital but as I was leaving I called Angela to let her know. She was asking about baby etiquette and visiting this morning. 🙂 She decided to come join me for a few minutes to say hi to the family and get a quick update.

As I arrived at 7:45pm, the nurse buzzed me into the maternity area and she said Krysta & Brett were in the OR (Operating Room)!!!! OMG! So I walked to the room and the whole family was crammed into the tiniest waiting room ever next to their hospital room. They said that they left about 20 min ago to start pushing those babies out!

Ang joined me a few minutes later. So since we were there and we had BABIES coming in the next hour we decided to stick around. 🙂 Gotta see those cute babies! Anyway, I texted Angie & Mike that we were there and they decided to come down too. Was texting Brooke an update and managed to get a title post update to this blog although it wouldn’t let me post text so that was weird.

Ang and I decided to walk down to the cafeteria to give the family who had been waiting there the whole day a little room… plus the room was HOT as heck!! 🙂 Angie & Mike joined us a few minutes later. Around 8:30 we walked back up to the second floor to see if there was any update. There wasn’t so Mike left and us girls walked back to the waiting room. We went to a second waiting room to chat girlie talk and the rest of the family miled around and was waiting impatiently. 🙂 At 8:45 the whole family got up and ran to the front of the hospital room so we jumped up…. The babies came through!!!! Brett was right behind them in his hospital scrubs!!!

I’m PRETTY sure those are the correct names with the girls above. 🙂 I think. I have a bad feeling they might be mixed up though because I think Charlotte was rolled in after Raechelle but Raechelle was the one awake and looking around. I dunno. 🙂 Here is a cute video of each of the twins. You can’t see their hair but Charlotte has beautiful blonde hair and Raechelle has a bit of darker hair.

The Twins

So here is Daddy! Is that not the cutest thing with the footprints on his arms??? I’ve never seen that done!

Anyway, apparently Krysta was bleeding in three small places so they were keeping her back to stitch her up, get her all ready while Brett came in. It was paparazzi time with flashes going and everyone going crazy. After I took two videos and a bunch of pictures, Brett was explaining how rough it was on Krysta and how she hadn’t gotten to hold her babies yet. OMG!!!! I couldn’t even believe I was taking pictures of these two precious angels and she hadn held them yet because of complications. I felt a little better when I realized Brett was the only one holding the girls so Krysta would still be the first. And the videos I took were totally the bomb I just wish I was taking them while Krysta was holding them!!!!

So Brett was telling us some of the horror stories

Ok, I’m posting this right now and will continue to edit/add more but I’m not sure if Brooke and a few other people are looking for the first few photos… Posting…

Ok, so the horror stories were that they pushed for an hour or so, maybe a little less. There was NO air in the OR?? So it was ridiculously hot. Brett was sweating his clothes off, Krysta was miserable, and the Dr almost fainted??? Craziness. So after Krysta managed to push Charlotte out, who was head down and apparently it was rough having her come out… Raechelle decided to FLIP AROUND with all that extra room!?? Or they weren’t sure what she did but she was head down and now they couldn’t find her. So Brett said that they had the ultrasound on Krysta tummy, they couldn’t find her heart beat, and then she was breech.

So, I’m sure you can imagine where this went… They had to reach in and grab Raechelle by the feet and tug her out. I KNOW! Horror!! Brett just had this look in his eye and was shaking his head (he was telling this to a few people standing outside the room while the Grandparents were oohing and ahhing). He said Krysta was really shook up and freaked out and so was he. I can’t even imagine!

Anyway, this was bits and pieces of information from Brett so hopefully Krysta can post her birth story in all it’s completeness in a few weeks. 🙂

So, we wanted to wait for Krysta to come through and wave at her and be on our way to leave the new parents alone. It took FOREVER though! Brett went back there twice to check on her, we were all getting nervous, watching the doors open each time for who would come through. Around 9:30 or 9:45 Krysta finally came through!! She didn’t look at anyone though and they wheeled her in the room and closed the door. (Brett had already explained that they wanted a little time before saying hi to the family – TOTALLY understand!!) The nurses came out and said she was breastfeeding. So HOORAY, after all that, I’m so glad Krysta finally got some family time, time to hold her babies that she had waited so long for, and hold them close for awhile.

We didn’t want to leave though and really wanted to at least kiss her on the cheek and wave to her. 🙂 I kept saying, 10 more minutes. 🙂 At 10:15 her Mom finally walked in the room, which was totally funny but Mom’s have privileges! Krysta had fed Raechelle, who chowed down like a champ, but Charlotte was being a little slower. She let the family in to say goodbye and congrats and then would try feeding Charlotte again.

OH, and from watching the girls I’m totally claiming that Raechelle is gonna be the rowdy one. Charlotte was dosing off and Raechelle was curious and looking around, hungry, yawning, totally staring at everyone. She’s gonna be the feisty one! 🙂

So we walked in and Krysta looked beautiful! She said she had some crazy stories to tell us. 🙂 We gave her a kiss and said goodbye, tried not to sit there and stare at her beautiful babies. She was holding Charlotte, who has a FULL head of the cutest blonde hair ever, and she was just looking up at Mommy. SO CUTE! I’m so sorry for the (while small) horrible complications during labour that she had! She looked beautiful, but totally exhausted and in pain. Apparently it was very painful, I’m not clear on if the epidural wore off or if the pain just seeped in… I dunno.

Here is one final picture of Daddy. Rachelle is on the left, Char is on the right. I can’t decide if they are going to be Char or Charlee, or Rachelle or Ellie, or Rae!! I guess only time will tell. Both are beautiful names to go with beautiful children!

KodakGallery is on picture 11 of 23 and YouTube is doing something wacky… GET MY VIDEOS UP, they are the freaking CUTEST VIDEOS EVER! I tried to upload them to my website so they would play on QuickTime but apparently they are over 150MBs… ? Oops. 🙂 I had to take long videos, huh? I’m gonna leave my computer on, hopefully the first one will upload. Sam gets me up around 7am so I will check it then! I’m tired!

Here are the photos!

Love you all! Love to Krysta & Brett and their new beautiful family! Such a long time coming!
