4.5 big hikes
- St. Mary’s closed due to a woman falling! So we did Baring Falls and Sun Point! 15k steps but not a lot of miles. Maybe 2 miles?
- Avalanche Trail – Supposed to be 6 miles but ended up being 4; and 19k steps
- Observation Point – I had 17k steps that day, I’m not calling it a hike. It was a sprint where our lungs tried to die. I also ran that morning. What the heck, girl.
- Jenny Lake – 3 miles; 16k steps
- Phelps Lake – 5 miles, 19k steps that day
I still can’t decide the best hike but… I need to decide.
I just closed my eyes and thought of Grand Teton. Everything was beautiful but I think the Teton’s were just more “chill” and I really loved those two hikes. Jenny Lake because of how BEAUTIFUL the lake and the sky and the sun was, especially having to pivot and not wait in line for the ferry, hike all the way across and run into a random lake on a detour and saw two moose! And then the bear encounter! Wow!
But Phelps was SO cool too. Seeing G cliff jump. The fact that it was so much less crowded then Jenny Lake was SO nice.
The best moments from everyone else:
Sam: Seeing the Grand Tetons from the lake for the first time.
G: the day of the cliff jump, the playhouse and seeing Joseph. Plus the whole drive through MT and seeing Tetons for the first time like Sam said.
J: His favorite hike was Jenny Lake but he loved Yellowstone.
JJ: She loved seeing the Old Faithful
Truck: Seeing a satellite for the first time.
Sharon: I don’t know if she answered! I need to figure it out.
Gregg: He didn’t answer, haha. I should ask him again.
What a fun trip.
