And Sleep Continues… Kind of

by Kristi on March 3, 2008

Well, we went a little downhill. The awesome part is that she doesn’t leave her bed until we are in the room. So we hear little ‘Mama! Papa! Mama!’ when she is up. 🙂 The stair gate is really confusing us though. Justin can jump over it. I, obviously, can’t. I also have problems CLOSING it quietly. The darn thing just makes so much NOISE! So, either way, we are keeping a close watch and ear on the stair gate (if it is open and we are upstairs) or the monitor on HIGH to hear her moving around. Just in case 🙂

Saturday she did take a nap, no problems. Went down great. The nap was SUPER short though, and hour and a half. Short for her, I guess.

Saturday night, she cried for 12 minutes going down. J said she was really wound up though but she did go down. Again, a few cries during the night, but she went back down.

Sunday they went to DISNEYLAND! And came home with a 20min nap in the car but she woke up coming in the house. So I read her stories and put her back down. All was quiet for about 10 minutes but then I heard one of her baby dolls go off. So she was playing with her on her bed. She then proceeded to read herself most of her books next to her bed, which was HILARIOUS to listen to. (She likes reading books herself now – when she has to anyway, she likes us reading more.) And kept that up for 45 min. So she had a total of one hour in her room as quiet time. She finally started calling for us so we went in. Since Justin went to DLand, I decided to walk her down to the park since it was so early (I hate being cooped in the house) and J had a Laker game on that he wanted to watch. So we got her MORE tired out.

The huge problem with that is that she was so overtired… She was starving at dinner time but we wanted to wait until our regular dinner time (and not give her snacks to ruin her dinner) that by the time she ate, she didn’t eat that much. SO annoying. Then she didn’t eat her English muffin she usually eats. Ugh.

There was a good side and a bad side to all of that.

The good side is that we did bath SUPER early and Justin actually SANG her to sleep (she was out like a light) at 8pm.

The bad side was that she slept horribly. 🙁 She was up all night with short cries and long ones. At 1am she didn’t go back down so I went in there. The great news about the bed is that it is our old bed and it SO comfy. Plus, when I grab her and wrap my arms around her it really contents her (or it did). She quieted up really quickly but was still awake. I told her it was night-night time and she just hummed. I said she needed to go back to sleep and she continued to hum and pat me on the arm. I asked her if she wanted me to sing to her and she agreed. So I did and her breathing got deep and she was better.

The continuation to the bad side is that… tadah! I’m preggo! Holy cow, getting off a mattress on the floor is impossible. 🙂 Especially trying to do it gracefully and not wake your child. So she opened her eyes (plus I had the hall light on pretty brightly) but she went back down.

Then she cried a few more times, 3am and 5am. 5am was loud and didn’t stop so I went back in, it was actually around 530am. I just hopped back in bed and cuddled with her. She went back to sleep but it was 545 by that point! I was sleeeepy. So I just went to sleep with her, finally taking off my glasses too. But, of course, being preggo is sooo uncomfy, I had to turn around at one point. That point was around 615 so I of course woke her up. She got up, patted me on the face and climbed over me and headed for the door. LOL – So we watched Dumbo at that point.

The good news to all of this was that it is MONDAY! And Sharon spends time with her in the mornings so I just took a nap in case I wouldn’t get a nap in the afternoon.

But luckily, she is asleep and went down easily again for her nap today. It’s almost been two hours so that is pretty good. She needs the sleep but she just sneezed so I’m not sure how long it will last. 🙂

Yay for the blue room!
