First Dr. Appt

by Kristi on July 28, 2007

Well the new Dr is ok. I think I’m reserving my thoughts about her. There was nothing wrong with her at all and she was really nice. I really trusted my old doctor though so we shall see. She did explain everything though and is sending me on my way to get blood work (totally sucky – I am not a good blood person – they never find my damn veins, they are baby veins) but the blood work seems more involved than last time. She’s checking progesterone and HGC which I don’t think was checked last time. Makes me feel better.

Again, really nice lady. She is of some sort of background (really helpful, huh?), I’m not sure what it was. Justin will probably know. Maybe, eek, I’m totally forgetting the word I want here. Egyptigian, maybe. Gypsyish (but not hippy – just eastern europe or something) What was weird, now that I think about it, is that her whole staff seemed to have the same accent.

The nurse in back really reminded me of that girl in Spiderman. The girl who lives in the same apartment building and is the daughter of the guy who takes his rent. She wears braids and has that little smile on her face – really sweet. I don’t know. That image just came to mind for her.

Everything looks good. Cervix is long, blah blah. It’s early, they said. Since it was so early instead of doing an ultrasound, she invited me back in three weeks to do one so we could see everything a little better, see the heart and stuff. Sounds good to me! I only got one ultrasound last time (even though I begged when I had really bad cramping early) so I’m thrilled.

The other good thing about this insurance is that since it’s HMO, everything is covered 100%. So that is really nice. With Sam, we had to pay 2-3k. But again, we shall see.
