The Cool Thing about 4:30AM

by Kristi on March 25, 2007

Not much is cool at 430am, right?

Well, what is cool is that Sam is a partially reasonable little person now! After crying for a few mintues, then stopping, and then starting to shriek like a mad person, I went in there to see what was up. She still does this about once a week, I guess. Usually it’s cause of a long nap where we didn’t wake her up but I thought we DIDN’T do that today. Anyway…

I rubbed her back for a bit and was whispering to her but she started to cry again so I picked her up. She was still sniffling when she went ‘GAWWWW’ and pointed to the door. It always cracks me up when she sniffle-talks. It’s so… cute, I guess. 🙂 Anyway, we walked outside and sat on the stairs and whispered for a bit but when I started saying ‘Say goodnight to the kitty’ she got upset again so we went downstairs…. Had a diaper change and then I asked her if she wanted milk and she said yes (well, she got quiet and said ‘Gah?’ and when she says that when I ask her something, that means yes! Or sometimes she signs milk too, which is good.)

So we made some milk in a bottle. Toastied it all up in the micro and went back upstairs. After she was done, instead of struggling up to sit on my lap she just kept laying back and chilling out while I hummed. I would have sang but my voice is blah from still being annoyingly sick. Then, I told her it was time to go to sleep and layed her down, and she turned on her tummy and snuggled in with her animals.

I just remember past times where she would have been screaming. So it’s nice that she is reasonable that early in the morning. 🙂 She went back to sleep until 745, oops. I thought it was 645, but it wasn’t. So… we won’t do a morning nap since Grandma is coming over at 1130 to pick her up… She will probably fall asleep in the car later in the afternoon but we will worry about that later. I wish I could let her sleep when she wants to sleep but honestly, 430am is not cool.
