Big Bear for New Years

by Kristi on December 29, 2006

2007 is almost here! What are my resolutions? I have no idea and don’t even want to think about them right now. 🙂

We drove up to Big Bear this morning. It is beautiful up here. It was very windy coming up but we came up the back way. It’s a lot nicer, easier drive, plus you don’t have the jerks on your tail. 🙂 We don’t exactly drive fast with a baby and two dogs in the back. Plus I get sick going around those curves… The back way doesn’t have as many curves even if it is 10 minutes longer.

Getting ready for Big Bear is always so flustering. It’s not like we have a lot of stuff that we need to bring… but we always seem to have SO MUCH stuff! I have clothes and tolitries up here but the bags we take are crazy. Plus all of Sam’s stuff. Her gate, two bags of toys, clothes, etc.

The house is in good condition, which is nice. The mice and squirels take over when we are gone so it was nice to come in and not find millions of little poopies around the house. 🙂 Although Justin says the sub basement is a DIASTER area with the insulation coming down since all the animals are living in it. The people are coming tomorrow to take a look. Luckily I don’t go down there (where he sets the traps and kills them) so I am living in blissful ignorance.

It’s so nice up here though. Very relaxing. Plus we have cookies, ice cream, and wine calling my name. I was going to get up and get some but I keep forgetting and now it’s 930 and I don’t think I want to have any this late since I am SO TIRED! Sam got up at 430 this morning. She will sleep until 7am for about 2 weeks and start inching up the time in the morning by 10/15 min each day. It’s frustrating. Although this morning I went in and I thought she smelled so I changed her and her feet were ICICLES!!! So many she was cold? I don’t know. She is in warm fuzzie jammies but maybe I should put on tight clothes under them? Tonight (in Big Bear where it is 19 degrees) I put socks on her feet and then her warm jammies. Hopefully she will be ok. We have the heater on high here. 🙂

Hope everyone is getting ready for their second long weekend in a row. 🙂 Nice!

Happy Birthday to my brother Ryan today! He is 3 years old!
