The Great Holiday Movie Binge: Part 2

by Kristi on December 24, 2025

Part 1 wasn’t that exciting but let’s jump into the next batch!

EXmas – 2023 (Amazon Prime) – OH MY GOSH, how did I miss binging on all the Amazon Prime holiday movies? This one was immediately 5 stars when the parents started off guilting their son and asking him, “Should I call your boss to explain why you need time off?” hahaha – And they had a game night – where he was setting her up to have his parents not like her – they were playing Werewolf which we play all the time. I have totally lied to my mother-in-law in that game. Classic. SO GOOD. And it has Leighton Meester in it, which… I did not watch Gossip Girl but I know who she is, so I was in. The whole thing was adorable. Good tension, amazing communication. Great groveling. I don’t know if I really believe he loved her – he was an idiot – but he agreed, so I’ll go with it.

Rewatch Factor: Definitely recommend!! I would watch again! Maybe once though.

Red One – Oh no…. I LOVE The Rock and did not see this in the movie theaters so I turned it on while working. Admittedly i was not paying attention but I got halfway through, had ot turn it off, and I can’t convince myself it turn it back on.

Rewatch Factor: Nope

Jingle Bell Heist – 2025 (Netflix) A new Netflix movie! Yasss! I talked to my Dad who said he thought it was super cute. Sam and I decided to watch one night and whoa… Dad… I question your judgement! The guy was not cute. The girl looked so young – Sam looked her up and she was 28 to his 29, which made us feel better. This was not a romcom? It had some entertaining moments and a good “gotcha” moment. A few actually. But no, not a great one. But enjoyable in the ridiculousness, I think!

Rewatch Factor: Nah.

My Secret Santa – 2025 (Netflix) – This one was SO CUTE!!! Virgin River gal, and I’m behind on that series, I love her. Tia Mowry (never watched whatever she was in but I know her) was deliciously evil with a good redemption. Really good mix of fun, sweetness, and silly. It really had Mrs Doubtfire vibes honestly. And the gay couple was adorable.

Rewatch Factor: Yes!

Holiday in Santa Fe – 2021 (Netflix) – Never seen or heard of this but since I was just in Santa Fe, it felt like a must-watch. Um, also it had Mario Lopez which I figured out in the first 30 seconds of watching it. Saved by the Bell – so good! This movie? Nope. It felt like it was some type of education in Mexican heritage, which wouldn’t be that BAD but it felt like Mario Lopez was the Mayor of all of it? I dunno. Nah

Rewatch Factor: Nope.

Royal Date for Christmas – 2023 (Netflix) – Got bored halfway through and completely addicted to Heated Rivalry but came back around on the 21st and finished it… ehhh, sweet! I liked the actress. The actor was not that cute though and seemed super old! But I do love royalty themes!

Rewatch Factor: Nahhhh

Cowboy for Christmas – 2023 (Netflix) – Ahh, the meet cute. Usually I am not a fan of cowboys but this grabbed me and I couldn’t stop staring at the screen and then got nothing done. I loved the high powered female energy, even if it came back to cowboys which I’m usually not a fan of. But the story was great. The family dynamics were heart-wrenching, the DAD was TERRIBLE, OMG. I wanted to smack him “Just tell me what to do” – NO! I’m sick of telling people what to do, figure it out yourself! Luckily she did. It was sweet.

Rewatch Factor: I mean… No for the cowboys but I will recommend it to people!

And now I think I refuse to watch anymore holiday movies and need to move on to something else. Thank god Bridgerton is almost here!

Oh AI. This was after the 3rd ask when I finally said I don’t wanna see her face, give me a profile shot. I think it got my nose right but the hair is off. I am experimenting with images to video and could try in another platform but I have to go wrap some final presents!
