Disneyland is always a favorite. I wish I had a pass so I could go for a few hours, hop on two rides, and then cruise around while enjoying the people watching.
And smell the waffle cones at Carnation Plaza.
With Sam’s surgery coming up, she wanted to plan a few things. She had got a job and was feeling flush with money and wanted to surprise GG and take him for some sibling time.
A few weeks earlier I had just talked about how I missed going to Disney, and she said, ‘Come!’
Once J heard that I was going, then he wanted to go. So naturally, we bankrolled it and signed us all up.
Sam LOVES surprises and really wanted to shock G but I warned her against it – the last time resulted in some nerves. And apparently she told him she wanted to surprise him with what they were doing on their sibling day and he said, ‘Sure, as long as it’s not to a theme park!’. At which point she spilled the beans.
So we all knew Disney day was happening.
We didn’t make it in time for rope drop. We tried but the security line took over 20 minutes and we were clearly in the wrong line. He took away Sam’s birdie (self-defense alarm) which was just an alarm!
So crazy.
So she was a little bit sad.
But we ran (walked, regularly!) over to Falcon and hopped right on. I had heard you could ask to have Chewy as the pilot but we didn’t ask. Maybe next time?
I got motion sickness and just looked down the whole time. They made me a pilot but whatever, we survived. I mean, I think we died in the game but I didn’t throw up!
We came out and ran into some storm troopers which entertained us.
I think I decided to pay for the Rise premium passes at that point. I figured why not. I’m fairly certain J had no idea what I was doing but I just decided not to ask.
So we got fast passes to Thunder and walked right on!
I love Thunder, it’s one of my favorites!
Then we grabbed a fast pass to Pirates, which is my ALL time favorite but while we were waiting, we hopped on Jungle.
GG was dying to get on Splash Mountain and we kept checking it and it was always 5m long, so we figured we were good.
Except we walked over to Rise for our scheduled premium passes and the ride was closed! That ride constantly breaks down.
Our passes basically said come back at any time, so we decided to go back over to Tiana/Splash Mountain and then we had to get a fast pass for that since the line jumped up (the sun had come out!)
Beignets first though!
No, I didn’t have any! I had my yogurt though, yumm. My backpack was so heavy from all of my food but I was super happy I had it all.
As we walked over to Splash (Tiana!), we ran into Jadyn! SO fun! We had just seen her a few days ago so we surprised her as she was just chilling waiting for her friends, and then we snapped a photo and continued on.
Splash was G’s favorite and I totally forgot where the camera was. Whoops. Must remember it’s on the right-hand side if I go again!
I had my sweatshirt on, my backpack in front of me, and had something else wrapped around my waist and my shorts and shoes still got SOAKED!
I totally forgot to bring a spare pair of socks. I brought a spare everything else!
Oh well, it dried.
We bought park-hoppers so off we went to Carsland! I had grabbed the (extremely premium) passes for that one too. That line is always SO LONG and it was SO NICE to walk on it basically.
I feel a little bad that we skipped all these lines because we simply paid for it but not that bad. Soooo nice!
And we won! Hands up in the air!
Sam and I went over to a chicken fingers place to get her lunch, and J and G went for hot dogs. Sam and I hung out for a bit, I had my lunch, and then we did a photoshoot for Sam.
Then I insisted that a nice person take our photo.
We then went to meet the guys and walked past Spiderman looking for Zack but he wasn’t working yet. We went past Web Slingers and we couldn’t sign up for Fastpass because we had one for Incredicoaster so we ended up doing Single Rider.
It was super fast, about 10 minutes, compared to a 50m wait but it would have been a lot more fun to do it altogether.
Because DANG that was a HUGE arm workout. My arms were incredibly tired and I think I had done arm weights the day before.
BIG mistake. HUGE. (Pretty Woman, yesssss)
Anyway. Off to the swings!
J wasn’t a fan so he stood in line until we went up the stairs.
I love swings.
I get sick on these swings… but I survived and it was fun.
Off to Incredicoaster!
I swear, the genius of these lightening lanes was perfection. So good! The line was like 2 hours long and it took us 10 minutes.
I will say that I think it’s been at least… 20+ years. I’m sure I had gone on California Screamin’ at least once but it was definitely before Sam.
While I’m not OPPOSED to fast rides, they just don’t… thrill me.
So. sick. SO SICK.
Deep huge breathes.
I started eating all my chocolate and salty crackers. I was super tempted to get a coca cola for the bubbles but somehow it subsided.
It was fun to see G so jazzed by it though. He had never been on and he just loved it.
At that point, we were ready for Guardians!
(No, we really weren’t!)
But this was the first longer wait line that we didn’t have a cheat pass to and we decided to get in line. We had been watching it and it had been 2 hours but I think it went down to 90 minutes so we hopped in line. It took about 65 so that was good.
I got to quiz G on all sorts of gossip. He did get slightly upset at me for it because I had “opinions” about some of his choices but it was worth it.
Sam and I talked dorm room lists and had a lot of fun gabbing.
We read some. Played some charades.
What a trip though.
None of us knew where the camera was so we all look slightly in a state of shock. Except for the guy behind G. haha
But the music it was playing was AWESOME. I have no idea what happened because I was closing my eyes and breathing through most of it but it was very energetic.
After that we… <checks notes>
YES! We went back over to RISE since it was broken earlier! It was finally working so we hopped on quickly.
It was perfect. So good. They really did that ride up in the best way. And it’s so advanced with it’s magnetic track so it’s super unpredictable. I’m excited to see what they create next, honestly.
Which is why I own their stock!
After that, I nagged them to go sit by the door and get a photo.
AWWWW

And then we went over to Micky’s Runaway Railway and OH MY GOSH.
Sam really wanted to do this ride. I think it was a 40m wait so it was another one where we were waiting in line. We got in, and it’s this super old school movie playing. I don’t want to spoil it but I spent the first five minutes cursing Sam out in my head of why she wanted us to go in this ride.
I was falling asleep. It was black and white. It had the most ANNOYING SOUNDTRACK and then….
BOOM.
Anyway. I guess we have to go back because the kids were OBSESSED with the soundtrack.
“Nothing can stop us now,
I don’t know how there could be any trouble…”
OBSESSED. We were singing it all night long. In creepy voices.
Eek.
So tired. Needed food after that.
I went with G to go get pizza at Alien Pizza and Sam and J were getting burgers at Tomorrowland and then G found the most amazing booth tucked away in the corner next to Space Mountain.
I think we stayed there for almost an hour just comotose and vegging out.
Oh, and he fell asleep.
Sweet little Baby G!

I think we were pretty much done.
We did get a Lightening for Space Mountain but it wasn’t until 10:15. (Spoiler, we did not make it!)
So we went on Buzz Lightyear and then we wandered over to watch the parade at 9pm.
It was the 70th anniversary – paint the night, I think – and I didn’t love the music but it was fun.
G REALLY wanted to go on Splash/Tiana again so while Sam did NOT want to go, I felt bad for G and said I would go walk over there with him. It was closed but we were going to see if it would open back up again.
We walked past the Fantastimic or whatever was playing in the river, which was cool. We saw the fireworks. And we sat chatting next to splash while listening to all the workers on the loudspeakers talk about how they were fixing it. It looked close but we finally left. (I had to check in the car and it was still closed so I’m glad we did leave…)
Sam got a stuffie outside the park while we were doing our thing and then we took a tired selfie up the escalator.

Andddd I checked my watch…
Dang, 30k!! Woot!

And of course, my video of a few fun memories
Until next time, Disneyland!
