When we first met, I knew you would always be in my life. Cheers to long ago apple martinis at the Melting Pot and lingering dinners talking about life. Thank you for being my late night emergency phone call. You are the person who can always make me laugh when I want to cry. I love how you panic and reach into the depths of your amazing brain to pull out a completely obscure memory (that I’m always horrified you still remember) to torture me with until I can’t breathe from laughing so hard.
You can find the sheer ridiculousness of any moment and magically create a lesson in a gentle, but authentic, and real way. You trust that everyone can find their voice and believe in us so fiercely, we just end up going along with you. I appreciate your insistence that we are all magical unicorns. And I am grateful for the “You’re pretty” text compliments that show up at the right moment.
You are my role-model in being brave, asking questions, and always speaking up for what’s right. The sheer amount of questions your brain comes up with is freaking amazing. Your curiosity knows no bounds and I love how you keep asking US questions until we can work through whatever is bugging us. And if we can’t, you finally hit us over the head with fun truths, which also works really well. I still have your Question Game saved and reference it randomly!
Our A-type personalities will never settle for less than the best, so thank you for being an idol for me in how to grow and be the best version of myself. I love that you are my partner in personal growth and watching you these last few years has been inspiring. I FIND YOU FASCINATING!
Cheers to belly-laughing, 5 hour plane rides (that will never be enough time with you), bestie trips, work sprints, long road trips with car Karaoke, or lazy lunches sailing from topic to topic and feeding my soul.
