Merry Christmas!

by Kristi on December 26, 2006

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day here in sunny Southern California. What weather we have, huh? It cracks me up that we have beautiful sunny skies and 75 degree weather on Christmas Day. Nice!

We had a great day. We woke up and went downstairs and opened our stockings. Then we had breakfast and opened up more gifts from other family members. Santa brought me a fabulous new camera which is SO COOL. It takes amazing pictures and has this ‘portrait’ setting (among many) that really zeros in to your face and gets these beautiful candids. I would upload my photos but since we have over 300 of the day (snapping and snapping and snapping) Justin threatened me to NOT upload them until he had a chance to go through and delete all the bad ones. I have an unfortunate habit of simply ording all phots from Kodak and this is the only way to keep the bill down… heehee

No matter! I shall post a few of the fun ones here before uploading. Also, my computer that I have currently doesn’t have the handy dandy ‘dragndrop’ feature from Kodak so I have to click on Browse, select photo, then OK, then Browse… on EACH photo and doing that 300 times just doesn’t sound like fun. Know what I mean? I need to fix that asap.

Justin also got me a beautiful emerald necklace and ring, again, among other things! Such a generous hubby I have! Sammie got some shoes and toy cars from Santa (I need to get into the groove of the whole Santa thing… I’m just not feeling it?) and we got her a baby Ariel (from Disneyland – red hair, get it?), a little people dollhouse, and some other things.

She then went down for a much needed nap and when she got up we headed over to Mom & John’s house for lunch. On our way over we called my Dad & Cindy up in Oregon. They were STILL opening presents but we said a quick Merry Christmas and I promised to call back later which I totally forgot to do. It’s to late now so I will have to beg forgivness tomorrow.

We got to Mom’s late because Sammie got up late… but lunch (dinner?) was delicious… beef yummy stuff with her famous corn, of course. After we opened up gifts. This year was quite different from last year. We had to constantly be running after Sammie! Obviously, she doesn’t stay put while all of us lounge back and ooh and ahh over gifts so that made it a little difficult to watch everything going on. We were commenting on how she was just going to be getting more active. 🙂

Of course Grandma was only to happy to chase after Sammie! Sammie got some awesome things including a bongo drum, books, musical table, cute clothes, etc. etc. We had some extremely cool stockings from Santa. Santa *always* goes overboard at Mom’s house but ooooh, do we love it! The gifts were more than generous. Justin got some nice new clothes and books. I got a toaster oven that I was wanting plus some really cute clothes. Katie got some new things for her new house she just moved into. It was really nice. We topped off the day with some pumpkin pie (I had some brownies, yum!) and then headed over to Sharon & Truck’s house for the afternoon!

Sammie had two dresses to wear and a third ‘comfy’ outfit, as she usually can’t stand wearing dresses since she can’t crawl. Pictured to the left is her second outfit change.
Justin’s mom’s house was beautiful, as always. Roy was there, and his girlfriend Ericka came over halfway through opening our millions and trillions of presents. She took the picture below on the right but Truck got another one with his cool remote control camera that pictured us all. Presents there, again, were very generous! An awesome gift from Truck & Sharon was a small movie camera that I can use to take video! It looks extremely cool, I can’t wait to start using it and posting more videos up.

We then had a yummy turkey dinner complete with all the sides, played a fun game of Apples to Apples, stuffed ourselves with cookies and cake and then came home.

Really, I should be cleaning up but instead… what am I doing? heehee – Actually I think I’m going to head on up to bed and relax right now. I pretty much relaxed the WHOLE day but boy am I tired. 🙂 Sammie just started screaming in her sleep too, that was weird. I rocked her back down so hopefully she is feeling ok. Her sleeping has been fantastic the past few weeks and she is also taking a bottle of milk in the afternoons (25% formula right now but she doesn’t seem to mind it at all so I think I’m going to go straight to regular milk tomorrow). We shall see.

So tired though….

Again, I hope everyone had a family filled holiday (and you enjoyed it!) just as we did! I missed seeing my Dad and everyone up in Oregon this year but I’m going to make it out there next month, I think.

xoxo
