20 years old

This blog is now 20 years old. The same age as Sam.

You could say I’ve still been blogging longer than that with JustinAndKristi.com journal. A whole extra year, starting May 2005. Or my god, my MySpace entries. If I ever had to read those…

I really wish I could read those.

One of my first entries on this blog was musing if I liked the Mountains or the Sea better.

I did not have a clear winner. And I still do not.

I’m not a fan of the sand but I can listen to the waves forever.

The mountains feel a little isolated but the sound of the wind through the trees makes me melancholy and nostalgic for peace.

I said I liked any view and I think that is where I have to leave it. The view off the top of the hill. The view of a secret path through the trees. The sunset. The moonrise.

20 year of writing.

That’s not true.

21 officially documented. Still not true. Although MySpace and Tumblr was about that same time frame.

I lied. Tumblr was around 2013-2015. I had to go login and find it. No new posts, just a lot of reblogging. I saw some Taylor Swift love so that’s still accurate.

Writing in my journal when I was a kid. Writing the start of books. Never finishing. I have 3 solid starts sitting in my computer.

A few tries of NaNoWriMo. Never finishing.

Creating poems (so many bad poems).

I still remember the one Krysta and I created in high school, and I still sometimes leave her a voicemail and sing it to her. The main line being…

Sometimes I think, when I drink, when I sink in the OCCCEEEAANNNNNN

All I remember is that, and then shouting the Sweater Song lyrics by Weezer.

I probably have a copy tucked away in my treasure box. Maybe.

Weezer does not have anything to do with writing.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a song though… Tempting.

I started this a few weeks ago. I don’t know if I have anything else to say right now about it.

I am a writer.

I love to write.

I hate to write.

It calls to me.

I threw these words in AI and asked it to make a photo so I can have it as the featured photo that shows up in the related posts. Why did it say 2004? That doesn’t even make sense.

Too tired to change it!
