Facebook Favorites & Friends

Facebook can irritate me. However, I love it and am on it for work… and personal matters, so I feel like I am on it all day! It has mostly taken the place of this blog being that I share more personal items of my children on there due to it being ‘more’ private. I’m trying to change that a bit this month! It’s NOT completely private though, always remember that 🙂

However, with EdgeRank, it’s hard to see updates of my friends and family! I heard Facebook is coming out with a new update that will let YOU decide if you want friend’s updates to show in your feed… rather than the ‘sometimes’ nature of how things work now.

My cousin just got engaged on Saturday and while my Mom texted me immediately to tell me the news, I didn’t see the photos on Facebook until I went directly to my cousin’s page to say ‘Congrats!’. How annoying is that? I have my ‘Sort’ feature set to ‘Most Recent’ instead of ‘Top Stories’ (however WATCH IT because it basically reverts at least once a week – SO annoying).

So while I have two specific lists of ‘Close Friends’ and others, I didn’t have a specific one set up for Family. Or while I did, I just didn’t have them in it and marked as a Favorite to click on it enough times.

Why are lists helpful? Because you can click on a list of your most important people and never miss an update! It’s SO COOL! It’s almost a little stalkerish as it reports almost every ‘like’ and ‘comment’ on other people’s stuff. Oh well. If people have me in a list they will see I frequent some crazy different groups. 🙂 ha! That’s what I get for having an IBD disease…

So anyway, this is just a little PSA on creating ‘Lists’ to make sure you put your favorite people in a list, and never miss an update.

My Easy Way to Add to a List

The easiest way to add to a list is to go to the person’s page and hover over the Friends button and ‘Add to a List’

Then you can just go and add more people to your special ‘list.

If you have a few favorite lists that you will always want to get into, then you can put them on your ‘Favorites’. Here is a great tutorial on how to edit your favorites.

Today I am thankful for Facebook for keeping me in touch with all my loved ones. My friends ‘live’ in my computer, a lot of really close ones I haven’t ever met before!
